Quick Tip Thursday #1 – The first 10 seconds of your video are the most important. Make them count!

The first 10 seconds of your video should be appealing and interesting enough for your viewers to continue watching. These first seconds are the moment you either win your viewers over, or lose them. That’s why you need to pay special attention to the start of your video and engage your audience from the very beginning.

Engaging your audience might be easier said than done, but there are plenty of ways to hook your viewers from the start.

For example, you can use sounds and images to grab their attention and spark their interest or you can get them straight into the story and pique their interest with captivating characters or surprising plot developments. Another way is by asking a question at the start of your video or letting them know what to expect from your video by giving them a short introduction or showing them a teaser. The most important thing is that you show them the promise of an answer to their questions.

Note: Be sure to take into account the attention span of your audience and don’t wait too long before answering their questions, otherwise your viewers will go looking for answers elsewhere.
