How to use the Move & Transform animation?

How to use the Move & Transform animation?

  • zoom in or out on an object
  • move an object from one place to another
  • rotate an object
  • change the opacity (transparency) of an object
  • use any combination of zooming, moving, rotating or opacity changes.

While there are so many possible combinations you can define yourself, there are also a few presets you can start from and modify.

Choose one of the available preset options, for example ‘Move right’:

In the Timeline, the object will then get a default animation, moving from A to B as shown in the screenshot below:

You can also create a sequence of multiple Move & Transform steps using key points. Every key point is represented by a bullet in the animation layer. Put your object in the right starting state and at that point in the Timeline, open the ‘Add animation’ -> ‘Move & Transform’ menu and choose ‘Add key point.

This screen recording shows how to imitate a bounce effect:

Note: in the general Object Properties, you can apply an overall opacity level to the object. This determines the maximum opacity of the object across the whole animation (including all key points). Key point opacity is a percentage of this maximum level. For example, if the overall opacity of an object is set at 60% and one of its key points is set at an opacity of 50%, then the real opacity of that object on that keypoint will be 50% of 60%, which is 30%.
